About
Who We Are
The Magic Shop is an interdisciplinary BTS publication that focuses on the impact of BTS and ARMY through different forces. Our publication is entirely led and run by youth and students in the BTS ARMY, who are one of the most stereotyped groups in the fandom, both by others inside the fandom and people outside of the fandom.
Our Purpose
-
To give opportunities for youth and students in the ARMY to share their voices
-
To provide a space for all ARMYs to tell their stories
-
To be an inclusive space for all ARMYs and non-ARMYs, where everyone feels that they belong
Our Vision
-
In the fandom - A place where youth and student ARMYs are not generalized by the older members (both in age and time in the fandom)
-
Outside of the fandom - A world where no one is stereotyped for who they like
Our Mission
The Magic Shop aims to provide a space of discussion, connection, and exploration for ARMYs and non-ARMYs alike. By connecting the stories between BTS's artistry and impact, The Magic Shop attempts to uncover the effect of BTS in ARMYs' lives, as well as in society as a whole.
Our Core Beliefs and Values
How This Started (A Message from the Founder)
Welcome to The Magic Shop! I'm Alice Fan, the founder of this publication. I look forward to connecting with you as this publication grows and blooms. As a student starting high school, I found BTS at the beginning of COVID, when everything in life felt like it was crashing down.
I wanted to share my own experiences with BTS as well as the impact of BTS as a whole in personal lives and society, and, hence, the spark to developing this publication ignited. This publication is entirely run by students and youth, the two groups in our fandom that are often judged, stereotyped, generalized, and insulted, both by people in the fandom as well people outside of the fandom.
Through this publication, I hope to provide a voice for, to connect with, and to engage in discussion with ARMYs from all walks of life.
Sincerely,
Alice Fan
